How to Earn FF14 Gil
Gil is the primary currency in Final Fantasy XIV and players earn it through battles (both storyline and random), loot sales, buying rumors in the Tavern and completing various errands.
Gathering is an effective way of earning FFXIV gil, but the process can be time consuming and wasteful of opportunities. That is why having access to high level crafters or gatherers can come in handy.
- Crafting
Gil is the primary currency in Eorzea and allows you to purchase most goods. These include raiding gear such as gear, food and potions as well as cosmetic items like glamour, minion and mounts.
Crafting is one of the fastest ways to turn materials into Gil. If you have the appropriate class for this, crafting can become one of your main sources of Gil income. A weaver, for instance, could turn farming banemintes into diremite webbing which they could turn into either HQ linen yarn or undyed flannels with significant profit potential and sell.

HNMs (High Notorious Monsters), are typically higher-level monsters that require alliances to defeat. By defeating them and collecting equipment they drop from them, HNMs grant titles upon defeat. Unlike traditional open world NMs, however, HNMs cannot be battled alone and quickly respawn upon defeat - these boosted monsters can be found both on Frontlines (the PvP battlefield) and Hunt for Elite Marks (a key to unlocking Syrcus Tower).
